Financial boost to First Aid Trainers from Barclays Bank
Press release from Barclays Bank 2nd Jan 2007:
A group that specializes in training people to be competent first aiders begins the New Year with a financial boost from Barclays bank.
The organization specializes in training people who are part of a charitable social group, or in rural communities to be competent first aiders.
Steve Morrell, the trainer says, “This donation from Barclays is a major boost to our work, and I am so pleased that Barclays felt our cause worthy of their support. This money will be used to offer courses to people in the rural community, as most rural communities are outside of the 8-minute time scale it takes for an ambulance to reach a casualty. What we are trying to do is to teach the needed first aid skills so that a casualty has a better chance of survival and an ambulance might not even need to be called for in the case of minor injuries.” “This will help not only that casualty but allow an ambulance to be sent to a more needy casualty giving them a better chance.”
Neil Maclaren, Local Business Manager for Barclays said, “ At Barclays we are committed to looking after local communities and we are delighted to support East Midlands Training Services LLP. This is a great opportunity for us to help make a real and lasting difference by supporting a range of causes from local schools to centres for older people.”
