First Aid at Work Training Courses
(3 Day Course)
The First Aid at Work course is a Health and Safety Executive (HSE) approved first aid course for the purpose of meeting the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. This programme meets the statutory needs of employers in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland needing at least one First Aider on the premises
The First Aid at Work course is customised to UK Resuscitation Council basic life support protocols and nationally accepted first aid protocols and is based upon the instructor led delivery. Modules on Caring for Specific Illnesses and Injuries, and First Aid in the Workplace compliment these.
Skills taught in this course:
Scene Safety Assessment, Universal Precautions, Primary Assessment, Rescue Breathing, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Conscious / Unconscious Obstructed Airway Management, Serious Bleeding Management, Shock Management.
First Aid skills taught in this course:
Injury Assessment, Illness Assessment, Bandaging, Splinting for dislocations and fractures.
Includes Reference Sections on the following topics:
Allergic Reactions, Bruises, Burns, Chemical Burns, CPR, Choking, Cuts, Dental Injuries, Diabetic Problems, Dislocations and Fractures, Electrical Injuries, Eyes Injuries, First Aid Kits, Frostbite, Heat Exhaustions, Heatstroke, Heart Attack, Hypothermia, Illness Assessment, Injury Assessment, Poisoning, Cuts / Scrapes, Seizures Sprains / Strains, Strokes and Temperature Related Injuries.
