 Abuse comes in many forms, including verbal, physical or sexual.

The course gives students an insight into the different types of abuse, how to spot signs of abuse, how to report suspected abuse and to who.

According to the 2007 Laing and Buisson survey there are over 420,000 people living in nursing homes, where many elderly patients are the unfortunate victims of nursing home abuse. An increasing number of cases have seen victims suffering from pressure sores, malnutrition and physical abuse.
